Celebrating Our Bright Future
"Things are going great,
and they’re only getting better …
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades!” —Timbuk 3
Since taking the helm at MCC 18 months ago, I’ve encountered many people, both inside and outside of this community, who have commented on our “hidden gems” … exceptional businesses and individuals that contribute significantly to the growth and positive outlook of our area.
As champion connectors and promoters of the business community at large, MCC’s mission includes singing the praises of these heroes among us whose efforts contribute day after day to the great present and Bright Future of Madison County.
The upcoming MCC Annual Awards Gala will highlight some of these outstanding achievers, including businesses in two categories new for 2012.
The Emerging Business of the Year Award recognizes a company with fewer than 5 years in business and fewer than 100 employees that has demonstrated innovation in building a sustainable business in Madison County. Finalists for 2012: Element212, State Farm—Amy Turner, and Weeks Communications.

The Small Business of the Year Award will honor a Madison County-owned business with fewer than 100 employees that has demonstrated a track record of strength, commitment to the community, and fulfilling on its brand promise. Finalists for 2012: Good’s Candy Shop, Myers Autoworld, and Xtreme Alternative Defense Systems.

The Gala will also recognize and honor companies with 50, 75, and 100 years in business: >> 50 Years | Community Hospital Anderson, >> 75 Years | Anderson Federation of Teachers, and >> 100 Years | American Playgrounds.
Individual awards will be presented for the MCC Ambassador of the Year, the Chairman’s Award, the FAB! (Females Active in Business) Award (new in 2012), and the Keith Pitcher Character in Business Award.
Come celebrate these outstanding achievements with us!
